Zoo Reptile Cage Painting
In the past 2 weeks my friend Amber Gartung and I visited the Seneca Park Zoo (Rochester, NY) 2 or 3 days each week to paint the background of a reptile cage. The cage is the home of the zoo's great plated lizard and african pancake tortoise. We painted a rocky outcropping scenery since the 2 reptiles live in savannah-like areas with rocky outcroppings or kopjes. Also, we painted the outside of the cage a light burnt sienna to give that savannah and desert feel. The photos show what the cage was before, progress shots, and the finished painting. Thanks for looking!
