Sustained Drawings

While reading the book "The Natural Way to Draw" by Kimon Nicolaides free pdf (Not sure if I used this site or not) , the lessons and exercises used in this book later on is composed mostly of sustained drawings, which utilize all the other previous exercises in this book and has us start to "mold" them together. I first made a gesture drawing on newsprint, did a blind contour drawing on tracing paper over the gesture, then did a modeled drawing on tracing paper over the contour drawing. Thanks for looking!

Drawings July 7th to July 11th

Hello, here are some drawings that I did this past week. This time I am moving on to change the way I draw my gestures by following the contours of the form more while still trying to retain/convey the same energy.  Thanks for visiting.

Drawings June 29th - July6

Here are some drawings that I did from end of June to July 6th. The Art League of New Britain held a drawing marathon on July 6th running from morning till night and I was fortunate enough to draw there from 10 am to 5 pm. The two figures at the bottom were the poses that I drew during marathon. Thanks for looking!

Drawings 5/22/13 - 5/31/13

Here's some drawings that I did the past week.  I have been going to the New Britain Art League for figure drawing every Thursday and it's been a wonderful time meeting new people and drawing from live models.  These drawings were mostly from live models except for the watercolors and the portrait of my smoking friend. Thanks for looking!

Drawings 5/3/13-5/17/13

Hi there,

Sorry for the delay, but here are some drawings that I did the past two weeks while following the book, "The Natural Way to Draw" by Kimon Nicolaides. The charcoal figure at the end as well as the 2 graphite/charcoal self portraits were not done as part of the exercises in the book. Thanks for looking!
